Our Doctors

Three state licensed optometrists are on staff, all of whom are Board Certified and have many years of experience. All our doctors must continue their professional education and training every year in order to maintain their license. You will find each to be competent, friendly, patient, knowledgeable and interested in your health.

Dr. Marcie Arnesty

Marcie Arnesty, O.D is founder and owner of Borel Eye Doctors since 1987. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry and a recipient of several awards including the Business Woman of the Year. Dr. Arnesty possesses a unique combination of skills, combining the art of optometry (frame selection, fit, design, patient-doctor rapport) with the science of her occupation (problem-solving, detailed product knowledge and laser vision correction). But, if you ask anyone about her, you will learn that her true love is people. She is a good listener, an amusing storyteller, and is loved by all of her patients. Dr. Arnesty is extremely proud to be celebrating 33 years in business at Borel Eye Doctors. Dr. Terri Mark

Dr. Mark has been a devoted member of our Borel Eye Doctors team since 1995. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley Optometry School. She is not only smart, she is an incredibly respected optometrist in local Optometry circles and the San Mateo community. Dr. Mark is a busy working mother of two, was elected the president, secretary and treasurer of two professional optometric organizations, and is actively involved with the Girl Scouts, volunteer work, crafting and baking. Patients of all ages like Dr. Mark because she is not only friendly but also informative. She relates to, empathizes with and communicates with understanding to each and every person she sees. Her vast experience, up-to-date knowledge and problem-solving ability promote proper diagnosis and treatment for the best possible results.
