COVID Update

3/16/20 Dear Patients and Friends of Borel Eye Doctors:

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have suffered from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and to the healthcare workers and staff on the front lines, helping our communities, our country and the world to contain its spread. Every one of us will, in the least, be indirectly affected in these unprecedented times.

This letter is to let you know how Borel Eye Doctors, Optometry with vision, will be conducting business in the coming weeks. The health and well-being of our patients, staff and community is the number one priority for all of us at Borel Eye Doctors. For now, we will continue to examine our scheduled patients and remain open for business.

The protocols to prevent contraction of the disease, such as wiping surfaces, prolific hand washing and elbow bumping our hellos are in place. Our office is cleaned nightly and sanitized throughout the day. As a precaution, at the front desk we have removed sign-in sheets, communal pens, and our candy dish. We also removed our newspapers and magazines and toy boxes from the waiting room area. Hand sanitizer is available at the front desk check-in. Patients will be single-booked, as always, to prevent overcrowding seated areas. All instruments are disinfected before and after each patient. If any member of our staff or doctors are sick, we ask them to stay home. No exceptions.

Additional protocols: If you have glasses or contacts for pick-up we have options for you. If you do not wish to enter the office, simply phone us 650-570-5955 when you are out front in your car or on foot. An employee wearing surgical gloves will bring your purchase to you. In advance of your arrival, we can take care of balances due with a credit card over the phone. When possible, we can ask our suppliers to direct ship your orders to your home or office at no extra charge for your convenience.

In exchange, we gratefully ask if you are not feeling well in any way to please call the office ahead of your appointment to reschedule. Likewise, if you feel the need to reschedule during this time, kindly give us advance notice of 24 hours before your appointment and our staff will happily reschedule you for a future date.

We are all looking forward to a ‘return to normal’. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Please let us know how we can serve you better.

With warm and sincere Regards,
Dr. Marcie Arnesty, Owner and Optometrist, Borel Eye Doctors
